It is finally time to move out of your cocoon. With bags all packed, well your mom has anticipated and packed the smallest of the things she thought you would need, while she's having an empty nest syndrome. Your sibling is having a bitter-sweet time, and not knowing how to manage the overwhelming emotions, your dad is being there acting all strong and melting inside. And there are you, who are excited about entering into a new phase of life, exploring a whole new life, making friends and memories, but then afraid of what is going to be ahead when you actually reach your college and hostel.

Friends from college and hostels are the ones which stick around over years.

Let's put more logic into it and see why hostel friends are the friends you would have for a lifetime.

You are all sailing in the same boat

From exam pressure to planning trips to partying, you all are together in good or bad times. Over a period of time, you guys grow on one another and then there comes a time when each of you knows what the other person likes to eat and what not to put on the plate. As time goes you and your friend(s) get so accustomed to each other that your lives start revolving around each other like clockwork. Down the line, it becomes as such that you can order for each other without thinking much and get that order bang on correct as per the liking of your friends.

You know how they like their coffee and whatnot. This is an effortless transition into each other's life, where you open up to someone who once was a complete stranger and builds a sense of deep trust and empathy towards each other and makes someone an integral part of your life.

Through thick and thin

You guys share the same anxiety about project deadlines, exam fear, and so on. This is quite a natural phenomenon to occur as they are the only support system present in the same physical state as you are. This expands to all the areas of your life not just exams and projects.

It applies to relationships and dating life, and breakdowns in general too. They are the ones to show you a mirror when you are pulling an unreasonable banter with your partner and keep you firm when your partner throws crappy banter too. They are there stopping you when you are about to send that needy drunk text to your ex or crush.

They are the constant shoulder to cry on when your date ghosts or catfishes you. They are there ordering that ice-cream sundae that you hog on when you are BF/GF bashing. Over time they are the ones fighting your text battles when you are not in the mood to do it for yourself or helping you compose some really good comebacks.

In good times, they help you plan a perfect date with your partner or choose a beautiful gift for them. In merry or sad times, they are always by your side giving you sane and insane pieces of advice. Having those late-night deep conversations that go up till dawn.

It is an ever-growing bond of friendship

From caring for each other in small little gestures to making big ones on birthdays. They would clear up the mess you made in the room before a difficult exam. They would listen and share their childhood stories, stories of school days and rainy days, and so on.

You guys know each other inside out by now. Even when college gets over and you move to different cities or countries, the bond that you share would remain unshattered. No matter if you call each other daily or weekly or whenever you are in trouble, the affection would always be the same. The sense of belongingness and being there for each other would always be there. And this is when you realise friends from the hostel are friends forever.

Summary: Moving to a new place makes one jittery. At Hive Hostels, we make sure there is no such jittery day in your life. With the right friends, your hostel life would be one that you would cherish for your lifetime. The friends you make in the hostel are always there for you no matter where you are.
