One of the great things about living in a student hostel like ours is that you always have something at your disposal to keep yourself busy. There is never a dull moment in Hive Hostels. Firstly, you have your friends or roommates to give you company, if they are not around, we have a multitude of activities which you can take up in Hive Hostels.

From binge-watching your favorite series to going on shopping sprees to getting fit together your friends have a major part to play for you to settle in a new place completely and comfortably. Making friends does not come naturally to all of us, and can be awkward and overwhelming at times. Simple ice-breaking activities come in handy in such scenarios where you can make friends and bond over your take on a movie or book, or you can be good gym buddies.

Moving to a new city can be a whole new kind of experience and spending time while getting to know new people would help you understand better other people, while you would learn new things consciously and unconsciously. The new cities have a lot to offer in terms of food, shopping, sightseeing, and a whole new world to explore altogether.

Here are some activities you can take up with your roommate or hostel mates to know them better and have a new bond at a new place.

Spend more time in common areas

Hive Hostels have a dedicated recreational room, where you can chill and relax after a long day of college. We have Tv, books and some games like chess, carrom, and cards here. You can just relax or play any of them with your friends. It would help you to ease up with other people and explore new things. You can read and discuss books, and might even start a book club (who knows)

Movies and series to the rescue

There is no better way to bond than watch a movie or a series together. There are a lot of unsaid emotions that one goes through while watching something and to be able to share and feel the same way with someone is the greatest form of bonding. You can start a Sunday movie marathon or what is better than Netflixing on a Sunday?

Learning a new skill

The more you interact with others, the more you observe and learn. Learning is not always what to do, but it can also be what not to do just by observing others. But let's look at the brighter side, maybe your roommate knows how to play guitar and you can learn too. There are several skills you can learn from each other, and something as small as better organization and prioritizing and compartmentalizing work or studies better.

Mapping and making memories

Who knows down the line you and your roommate start an insta or YouTube channel and film your journey or become influences or start something out of the box? The options are endless here, and we think you'd better know it than we do. There is a lot of time on your hands while you are living in a hostel, and it is up to you how to make the best use of it.

Exploring the city

Once you start living in a new city, you should for sure explore the surroundings and for once be a tourist in that city. You must see what the city has to offer in terms of history and beauty and merely sightseeing. Map the famous places and do visit them whenever you get time either alone or with your friends.

Gym buddies

Being and remaining fit should always be the number one thing on your agenda especially when you are living away from home. You can hit the gym or enroll in yoga or aerobics with your roommate or friends. This would help you form a routine better and an effective one. You won't fall in the loop of procrastination when you have some company to push you.

Shopping spree

Shopping does not always have to be going to the mall and buying stuff. You should explore the local markets and especially the flea markets. Or simply you can go on an online shopping spree too if you like that.

Summary: Living away from home can sometimes make you feel lonely, but having friends and activities to do would help to feel a sense of belonging and would give a feeling of home away from home. At Hive Hostels we have made sure that your each day goes bright and happy. We have various activities to offer at our hostels which you can take up.
