When you step into college life, you experience many feelings. Of all these feelings is the anxiety of finding a suitable student accommodation to live in. This place should be suitable in many ways because you have to move from home, and nothing beats the comfort of home. We have listed a few things to be mindful of while searching for a PG or hostel for boys or girls.

Primary things to consider while looking for student accommodation:

  1. Location

  2. Budget/Affordable

  3. Amenities

  4. Security deposit

  5. Safety

  6. Roommates

  7. Approachability and accessibility

First and foremost, you should never take up a place far-far away from your college or university. Your primary focus should be on cutting the travel time so that you would have more time to focus on your studies and social life. Having a few extra hours in your hand gives you enough space for yourself and takes up new things which you always wanted. You should make sure that it is near a metro station or a bus stop, whichever way you prefer to travel. Paying some extra money for a student hostel or PG like this would not hurt because you'll be saving on travel time, extra transport costs, and many more hassles.

Budget is one of the factors you cannot ignore. Firstly, you need to put a tab on how much you want to spend. PG for girls and boys can be expensive at times depending on many factors. But it is up to you to decide how much you want to spend. Finding affordable student accommodation that is too furnished can be a bit of a task but not impossible. You can check Hive hostels if you doubt us. From our experience, a cozy, comfortable, and hygienic place to come back to after attending all those heavy lectures would be a heavenly feeling.

With fully furnished PGs and hostels, the thing is sometimes they cover very less when they say fully furnished and charge you more, or they provide you facilities which are not even required and again charge you extra. Both ways the loss is yours. At hive hostels, we provide you with all the amenities that you need for the smooth functioning of your day. We do not intend on burning a hole in your pocket in the name of some lame facilities which you would not even require. We make sure that you get healthy meals, a nicely ventilated space, a hygienic washroom, an AC, WiFi, and laundry.

Security deposit

Security deposits are bitter-sweet things that are unavoidable. You may not want to deposit a hefty amount but ultimately you have to have student accommodations. At Hive hostels we do not ask for security deposits, rather we offer you discounts when you make your booking with us. Most of the PG for boys and girls these days ask for three months advance deposit, which is a lot and you do not want to block that sum of money at a place that you are not even sure about living in for the long run. Look for options that ask for less amount as a security deposit else you can always give us a call at hive hostel and live in a comfortable space.

Safety and security

You really do not want to be living in an area or a PG where you do not feel safe and secure. More than you, your parents would be always worried about your well-being. Living in a constant state of being insecure would lead to many problems, which we are not going to dwell into. Aren't those grades scary enough that you bother about your surroundings too? At hive hostels, we have installed security cameras and have security guards at the hostel so that at any point there would be no breach or threat to your well-being. We understand how important security is and we bet we do not take it one-ounce lighter. We try our best and make you feel safe in the hostel and outside the hostel (as much as possible).

When you live in student hostels, sometimes you hit it off well with your roommates, sometimes the vibe is off. Well, you cannot predict beforehand how one is gonna be, but a general vibe check before you finally settle into a room beyond the point of changing the room again is always recommended. It is always good to move in with someone you already know even if some bit if not completely, you can always grow your friendship later. A good roommate can be a blessing and a bad one could make your hostel experience a bitter one.

Approachability and accessibility

While you search for a PG, you should for sure check if it is close to your college or university. But there are other things too you should look out for. At this point grab a pen and note it all down, as you might forget some of these things. Market! A nearby market is a must for getting small items of daily need. You cannot run to a supermarket every time you need a packet of lays or you are out of shampoo. Fruits, snacks, etc should also be available in the vicinity of your student accommodation because we need our vitamins, and we need to keep those taste buds calm too. ATMs are not that essential these days but keeping a little cash with you won't harm but would rather help when gpay stabs you. If you are a fitness enthusiast who likes open green spaces, then a park nearby would be a boon for you. You could go out for a little walk or a quick run and fill your lungs with fresh air.

Summary: Choosing the right student accommodation with all the facilities one needs can be a tedious task. We at hive hostels, provide you with fully furnished student hostels at affordable prices. Get in touch for more details.
